In 2021, the Ford F-150 benefited from impressive updates with the debut of its 14th generation. The improvements to the F-150 have continued with notable upgrades to the 2023 and 2024 models. For example, in 2023, the F-150 introduced the Raptor R trim level with a supercharged V8 powertrain. In addition, the entry-level XL trim came with the optional Rattler off-road package for the first time. Additional improvements were made to the 2024 model year. What are the differences between the 2023 and 2024 F-150 trucks?
Performance
The entry-level V6 engine for the 2023 F-150 is gone for the 2024 model year. Now, the base engine is a V6, turbo 2.7-liter engine that puts out 325 horsepower. The diesel powertrain from 2023 is also now available in 2024. The other powertrains offered in 2023 continue to be available in 2024. These include a 430-horsepower, hybrid V6 system and a 400-horsepower, 5.0-liter, V8 engine. The F-150 Raptor continues to have a 450-horsepower, turbo 3.5-liter, V6 system, and the Raptor R has the same 720-horsepower, supercharged 5.2-liter, V8 unit.
Appearance
The 2024 F-150 benefits from a minor facelift. Compared to the 2023 model, it comes with an upgraded grille design along with an inspired mesh pattern. The bumper is also updated to modernize the design. In addition, the Pro Access tailgate and new wheel designs are introduced in 2024. The 2024 F-150 Tremor now has a unique bumper and orange light accents streaming across the grille. This trim also now has a front winch and an accessory light bar for the first time.
Features
In 2024, the F-150 introduces new options, such as an anti-theft system, hands-free Blue Cruise and a head-up display. In addition, the optional 12-inch display screen from 2023 is now standard for all trim levels in 2024. Other features continue to be available, such as a 360-degree camera, leather upholstery, lane centering, heated seats for both rows, massaging front seats, a dual-panel moonroof, a B&O sound system, household-style power outlets, a folding work surface in the console and a few additional features.
