The Ford Escape enters its last year on the market in 2026. This compact crossover SUV is unchanged from its 2025 version. It continues to deliver a comfortable, responsive driving experience, making it a top pick for the last 25 years.
Six Escape trim levels are available in 2026, along with four powertrains. The Active and ST-Line versions of the Escape come with a turbo 1.5-liter, three-cylinder gas engine. This 180-horsepower unit features front-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The other trim levels have a turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, 250-horsepower engine. They come with standard all-wheel drive. The 2.5-liter, four-cylinder hybrid engine is exclusively available as an option for the ST-Line Select, ST-Line, Elite, and Platinum trim levels. This is a 192-horsepower unit that comes with a CVT. The Escape PHEV has an electric motor and a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. It offers a 37-mile all-electric range and 210 horsepower. This is a front-wheel drive system with a continuously variable automatic transmission.
The graceful aesthetics of the 2026 Escape have a lean, sporty look with a curved nose and slightly tapered hood. Across the sides, the Escape shows off smooth yet angled contouring. At the front, the model has slanted, extended headlights that are topped by an LED ribbon. The small fog lights are set back in a dark, molded port. The rounded grille has a radiating mesh design.
